- Sub Solutions requires substitute teachers to be 22 or older.
- What is required to be a substitute teacher?
- Current FBI/BCI Background Check
- Proper Licensure (Sub Solutions will provide instructions)
- General Substitute Teacher (bachelor degree)
- 1- Year Temporary Substitute Teacher (non-bachelor degree)
- Professional/Permanent Teaching license
- Attendance at In-person Orientation, submission of all Hiring Documents, and successful completion of Required Trainings

- How long does the hiring process take?
- Much of the hiring process depends upon a variety of factors including the state of Ohio approving background checks and licensure applications and the seasonal demands of our partner districts. This makes the hiring process difficult to predict. It is important for applicants to read instructions thoroughly to ensure a smooth hiring process. Sub Solutions strive to move applicants through the process quickly and efficiently.

- Application will be reviewed by Sub Solutions
- Sub Solutions will contact applicant via email with Next Steps
- Attend Required In-Person Orientation
- Candidates who miss or cancel two scheduled orientation sessions will be moved to inactive status in our system. Once a candidate is inactive, they will not be scheduled for another orientation in the same school year.
- Complete all hiring forms/trainings after Orientation
- Complete your Frontline Account Set Up
- Pick up Assignments in Frontline and begin subbing!
